Dutch & European Patent Attorney
Patrick has extensive experience as a patent attorney working in industry. As a result, he is able to place himself in the client’s position particularly well. He is also one of only few European patent attorneys with a Master of Science degree in computer science.

Education and experience
Patrick obtained his Master of Science degree in computer science at the University of Twente, Netherlands in 1999. Before joining De Vries & Metman in 2015, Patrick worked for almost 10 years at Philips as IP Counsel and for almost four years at TP Vision, the former TV department of Philips, as Head of IP. He qualified as Dutch patent attorney in 2005 and qualified as European patent attorney in 2007. Before starting his career as a patent attorney, he performed applied research at Lucent Technologies in Enschede, Netherlands.
