Plant breeder's right
A plant breeder's right protects new varieties of all plants in the plant world. The variety must not only be new, but must also meet a number of botanical requirements.
Plant breeder's rights may be applied for with the Raad voor het Kwekersrecht in Wageningen, the Netherlands. All plant breeder's rights granted are recorded in the Nederlands Rassenregister.
Plant breeder's rights are granted for 25 or 30 years.
