Rinie van Helden studied mechanical engineering at the University of Technology of Eindhoven. After his graduation he became a research scientist at TNO Automotive, where he was involved in research and development of emission reduction technologies for diesel engines.

Rinie is a Dutch and European Patent Attorney and mainly active in the field of mechanical engineering.
